August is the month Alexandra Speedway gets ready to start its season off with the ‘3-Hour Enduro’.
One of the outstanding elements of this race is that, unlike standard speedway races with the cars turning left, the 3-Hour Enduro is run through the dogleg - meaning that you have to turn right as well.
It is also open to any speedway ‘sedan type’ race car. That means you could end up watching an AMCA vs. a Super Sedan vs. a Standard Saloon vs. a 1200 Junior (with a parent driving).
Although the 3-Hour Enduro is obviously the main event of the day, if you wanted to make a full day of it, the heats are run in the afternoon starting about 12:00pm with the final starting about 5:00pm.
The 3-Hour Enduro is a team event with teams being made up of 1 to 2 cars with a maximum of 2 drivers. The final usually has just under 40 cars, which when added to the team factor, the time factor and pit stops, it makes for an interesting race as strategy can and does play a big part.
If you fancy having a go at this Enduro event your car must comply with the safety aspects of the ‘Open Sedan Rule Book’ which can be found on our downloads page along with nomination forms when they are released.
